Borak2 YTL, DZJJ, Tajuddin lagi By Mind Broker 12/9/2000 10:46 am Tue |
Tapi kalau dah berat sangat, sapa sanggup tolak.... nanti melarat.
Mahdey memberi sedikit komen pasal Tajuddin:
Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, asked if Tajuddin might have declined because
he had been left in limbo for four days, said Saturday: "I do not know.
I think there must have been a miscommunication."
"In business politic is secondary. Efficiency comes first. Unless, off course,
you are one of those cronies..."
dipadamkan siang2 kerana dah yak menyabar nak makan pisang?)
Ada2 aje benda tak kena, sampei EPF pun terpaksa hulur "derma".
Tadi saya merayau di alam siber, terjumpa pula satu senarai projek2 besar
penswastaan negara. Syarikat dia pula bernama DZJJ Sdn Bhd.
Apa makna DZ tu? Daim Zainuddin ke? Projek: DARA (Pahang Tenggara) Sudah lama kita tak dengar kesah DARA. Yang asyik didengar kesah2 Langkawi aje.
Entah2 DARA ni diswastakan untuk mendapatkan tanahnya kut? Lagipun
Pahang memang kaya dengan pelbagai pusat tarikan pelancung, tapi kebanyakkannya
di atas "gunung". Darul Makmur konon - sebab Kasino nya tersohor keseluruh
semenanjung....
Pembangunan luar bandar
di sana tidak bergerak sebagaimana matlamat. Akhirnya beberapa kawasan BN
lumat...... Saya merayau dan jumpa sedikit rencana pasal Pahang:
Pahang Oh Pahang Development in Pahang? Jengka and DARA used to bring development but these
two organisations are now almost defunct. They tried to form the Lembaga
Kemajuan Pahang Barat, but it killed itself even before birth. Am I correct?.
They tried to bring tourism to Pahang, I would say with a bit of success. But
can that success be sustained? If just to rely on spillovers from Trengganu
they might as well not bothered. And the towns in Pahang are not developing
as fast as they should. The same old town and the same old buildings in most of
the towns, some even still with wooden shop houses which should have been torn
down years ago. See Lanchang, Karak, Kerdau, Kuala Krau, Triang (strange names to some readers
and strange still if you happen to visit them), even Pekan and Kuantan. Who
cares anyway, most people from Pahang prefers to live in KL. Yes there is the
Karak Highway. But only to Karak. Why not to Kuantan? I don't know really. I
thought Sabaruddin Chik was the MP for Temerloh for a long time and very close
to the "TOP", and yet he could not a get highway to Temerloh. And what of Najib,
Khalil, Jamaluddin, Fauzi and Zaharah, could not they get a highway to Kuantan
while sitting at their Federal pots (posts)? Regardless of that Pahang has
developed in other areas; it has got Petro-Chemical Complex at Gebeng.
I would presume that it will have a very bright future considering that
Trengganu now is a 'problem boy' of the Federal Govt. Where else the Federal
Govt. can turn to? Mentakab seems to have its own industrial complex as well so does Bentung,
though both seem to progress very slowly as compared to places like in Selangor
and Perak. What more Penang, Melaka and Johore. All had BN Govt. for long long
time. In education Pahang has been left too far behind. Other than a small medical
teaching hospital in Kuantan not even a University is available in Pahang. Don't
talk about IKIP in Kuantan or ITM Branch in Jengka and the Tengku Abdul Rahman
College in some shop houses in Karak. These are irrelevant. There were talks
about a UM Branch in Temerloh/Mentakab and UIA in Kuantan but both do not seem
to materialise. And Najib just before the last GE promised a UTM Branch at
Pantai Legenda (where is it?) but now he is demoted to being the Defense
Minister there is very little likelihood that the Campus will be built.
So Pahang is left "uneducated". --cut-- Monday, September 11 6:47 PM Malaysia Business Briefs: YTL Power Buys Back Shares
KUALA LUMPUR (Dow Jones)--Independent power producer YTL Power International
Bhd. (YTLP.KL) said it bought back 555,000 shares from the open market Monday at 2.28 to 2.31 ringgit ($1=MYR3.80) a share, or a total MYR1.27 million.
--cut-- --lapuran hari ini-- Malaysian Shrs Close Down; MBf Capital, Tenaga Hit Mkt
KUALA LUMPUR (Dow Jones)--Shares closed lower Monday with local investors
largely sidelined and minimal interest from foreign investors.
The Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange's Composite Index, which tracks 100 blue-chip
stocks, shed 1.7%, or 12.66 points, to end at 727.15.
Volume was moderate with 117.7 million shares traded and valued at 281 million
ringgit ($1=MYR3.80), traders said. Among most actives were Pan Malaysian Industries; down nearly 9% at 30.5 sen on
volume of 8 million shares. Investors have reacted negatively to the shares as the
company has announced a fundraising exercise through a rights issue to deal with
debt. Berjaya Group closed 13.3% lower at 42.5 sen under strong selling pressure after an
announcement of a fundraising exercise to reduce outstanding intercompany loans.
MBf Group's announcement of a 90% capital reduction exercise affected MBf
Capital's share price adversely. Shares fell 8.6% on heavy volume as company was
seen as proxy to suspended MBf Group.
Blue-chip Tenaga lost 2.6% as former CEO Tajuddin Ali rejected an offer to resume
the post of CEO. Telekom Malaysia shed 5 sen to MYR9.65. Maybank closed 1.4%
lower at MYR14.30 after local institutional funds stepped in to mitigate a steeper fall
during the day. Dealers noted some foreign selling pressure in banking and index heavyweights, but
there was no buying interest in the broader market.
Decliners outpaced advancers 697 to 49, while 65 shares were unchanged and 189
untraded. The September futures index contract on the Kuala Lumpur Options and Financial
Futures Exchange closed 3.10 points lower at 725.00 points.
